What is Waikato Young Professionals?

Waikato Young Professionals (WYP) is a network for early-career individuals across the Waikato region. We bring together people from a range of industries to connect, learn, and support each other through events, mentoring, and professional development. Whether you're starting out or looking to meet others in the area, WYP is here to help you build your career and community.

What types of events does WYP host?

We host a range of events designed to connect and support young people in their careers. Our calendar balances networking and social settings, educational events for professional and personal development, and wellbeing activities. These events offer a relaxed and welcoming environment to meet others, share ideas, and learn from local leaders across different industries

Do I have to work for a particular industry?

Not at all. Waikato Young Professionals is open to individuals from all industries and career paths. Whether you’re in business, trades, the arts, education, health, tech, or anything in between, you’re welcome here. Our strength is in our diversity—connecting people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

WYP PUB QUIZ 2025

After a sold out event last year, we knew we had to bring back the WYP Pub Quiz for 2025. Get ready for an evening of fun, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition at Waikato Young Professionals Pub Quiz night, presented by Braun Bond & Lomas!

Gather your work friends, form a team, and test your knowledge on a variety of topics ranging from pop culture and history to science and sports. Whether you're a trivia master or just looking for a great time, this is the perfect event for everyone.

Prizes: Exciting prizes for the top teams and spot prize, including bar tabs, gift cards, and more!

Food: Delicious pub grub available all night. The bar will be open for drinks.

Host: The Cook's quizmaster will keep the questions coming and the energy high.
